The Product Requirements Document (PRD) is mainly specification for the product to be implemented.
This document majorly covers functional requirements, defining each feature in detail for the product development team; with technical details considering technically realizable definition of the features. Technical details can include technology, protocols, algorithms, platforms, Hardware requirements etc.
This document shall also define User Experience Requirements and non functional requirements like Performance, Portability, Scalability, Compliance or Certifications, Maintenance & Support, Backward Compatibility requirements (as applicable).
